Montréal.
Stay a little longer.

Make Montréal a proper six-day Grand Prix escape: arrive Wednesday to recover, give Thursday to Old Montréal and a reservation-worthy Joe Beef dinner, then let the Yellow Line carry you to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve for the Sprint-format Friday through Sunday. Sleep in the city after the race and leave Monday rather than trying to wrestle a departure into race-day crowds. The five-day version keeps all circuit days but swaps the full city day for a gentle Thursday arrival.

Montréal city view

Choose your base

Downtown is the practical base for Metro connections and a wide hotel choice, though you will still transfer onto the Yellow Line for Jean-Drapeau. Old Montréal offers a more atmospheric base for the Old Port, Pointe-à-Callière and a premium stay such as Hôtel William Gray at 421 Rue Saint-Vincent, but it is not a circuit hotel - compare your precise station walk and race-weekend rates before booking. William Gray's spa, restaurants and rooftop make it a worthwhile optional splurge for travellers who value a polished Old Montréal stay, not proof of circuit transport or availability.

Move around the city

For the circuit, the official Formula 1 ticket page places Jean-Drapeau Metro station on Montréal's Yellow Line at the island's main entrance and says downtown is reachable in under 10 minutes by Metro. Treat that as a normal access description, then reconfirm 2027 Grand Prix gates, ticket scanning, service changes, accessible access and post-race routing with the promoter and STM. Parc Jean-Drapeau's ordinary shuttles and parking information are not a promise of Grand Prix service.
