2027 Hungarian Grand Prix

Formula 1 · Budapest, Hungary

Time to be confirmed · venue local time

Hungaroring

Guide source-checked Oct 9, 2026

Before you plan the trip

Use the Hungaroring-linked official shop, verify the exact Friday-Sunday coverage and compare grandstand, general-admission and F1 Fan Lounge choices. Availability, delivery, parking and package inclusions can change; VIP wording alone does not promise paddock access or transfers.

How to reach the venue

Wait for the 2027 promoter transport plan. The 2026 guidance used H8 HÉV, Kerepes shuttles and a Gödöllő rail return, but that arrangement is not confirmed for 2027. Reserve only the final official transport or parking option and preserve buffers.

Your trip, day by day.

Jul 28 - Aug 2 · 6 days at the destination

Recommended for this trip. International flight days are additional.

Six destination days: Wednesday arrival and recovery, a Thursday city day with a thermal bath and booked occasion meal, Friday through Sunday at the Hungaroring, then Monday departure after a Budapest overnight.

When to arrive

Aim to arrive Wednesday, July 28. Long-haul flight travel belongs outside this destination-day count, and early hotel access is not guaranteed. Keep the first afternoon light.

Arrive and ease into Budapest

Wednesday, July 28 - recovery before the race weekend

After landing

Check in and keep the first afternoon loose

Base yourself in central Pest if you want the broadest choice of dining and city transport, or near City Park if a greener, quieter edge suits you. International flight days are additional to this destination itinerary, and early room access is never a promise. Arrange airport transport with your hotel or use an official local option after collecting bags.

Early evening if settled

A relaxed first dinner at Rosenstein

Rosenstein on Mosonyi Street is a thoughtful arrival-night choice for Hungarian and international cooking, including dishes such as matzo-ball broth, flódni and catfish paprikash. Its operator currently lists Wednesday service, but make a reservation and reconfirm future summer hours rather than tying a late flight to a table.

Castle views, a thermal soak and the occasion meal

Thursday, July 29 - Budapest city day

Morning

Walk the Buda Castle District and Fisherman's Bastion

Use the lookout terraces at Fisherman's Bastion for its broad city view, then wander the Castle District at an unhurried pace. This is a compact Buda-side experience rather than an overstuffed museum schedule, leaving room to rest before three circuit days.

Afternoon

Soak at Széchenyi Thermal Bath

Choose a thermal-bath session at Széchenyi in City Park, then leave enough time to return, change and rest. The operator currently sells entry and lists pools, saunas and spa services at its Állatkerti körút address. Reconfirm the date's hours, age rules and any treatment booking before you go.

Reserved dinner

Make Stand the occasion meal

Book Stand on Székely Mihály Street for the full-city-night dinner: the restaurant describes a contemporary expression of Hungarian ingredients and lists reservations directly. This is the splurge meal before the circuit program, so keep the route home simple and reconfirm menu, dietary requirements and availability with the restaurant.

Practice day at the Hungaroring

Friday, July 30 - circuit program with clock still TBC

Before the circuit program

Use the published race-weekend transport plan when it arrives

The circuit's prior event plan used H8 HÉV capacity and fan shuttles from Kerepes, plus a return connection via Gödöllő, but that was for 2026. For 2027, wait for the promoter's confirmed travel page, follow the gate on your ticket and allow a generous buffer rather than assuming the same shuttle or road arrangement.

Circuit sessions - time to be confirmed

Follow Friday practice at the Hungaroring

Formula 1 lists Friday as the opening circuit day, but its 2027 Hungary page marks the session clocks TBC. Stay flexible inside your ticketed area, consult the final official schedule shortly before travel and do not build a fixed restaurant reservation around an unpublished finish time.

After the circuit program

Return without a committed late plan

Leave only after the final published session and the route staff direct you to use. Race-weekend congestion and the future transport timetable make a flexible Budapest evening smarter than a prepaid, time-sensitive booking.

Qualifying day at the Hungaroring

Saturday, July 31 - pole position, with clock still TBC

Before the circuit program

Repeat the confirmed travel route with a calm buffer

Use only the 2027 promoter instructions, ticketed gate and transport reservation or parking allocation that you have actually purchased. The published 2026 plan demonstrates why rail and shared transport deserve consideration, but does not confirm 2027 vehicles, stopping points or departure windows.

Settle in for final practice and qualifying

Saturday is listed as final practice and qualifying on the official event program, while the exact 2027 clocks remain TBC. Keep the whole circuit window clear. If the official F1 Fan Lounge VIP option appeals, ask the official seller what the dated package includes - do not assume paddock access or transfers.

Hungarian Grand Prix Sunday

Sunday, August 1 - race day, with clock still TBC

Before the circuit program

Travel early using the final official plan

Race day needs its own margin: use the gate and official journey instructions published for 2027, not an old shuttle timetable. Keep water, sun protection and any permitted essentials within the eventual venue policy, and expect the trip back to Budapest to take its own sweet time.

After the circuit program

Return to Budapest and keep the night easy

Stay overnight in Budapest rather than turning the circuit exit into an airport dash. Follow staff directions and the published return route; a casual late snack near your hotel is a bonus, not a fixed promise after a busy exit.

Depart after the race-night stay

Monday, August 2 - unhurried checkout and onward flight

Morning if your flight allows

A final Danube-side walk

If your departure leaves time, take a short, low-commitment walk by the Danube around the Chain Bridge and Parliament views. The tourism board identifies the bridge as Budapest's first permanent Danube crossing and the Parliament as a defining riverside landmark. Skip it for an early flight.

Before your flight

Collect bags and leave a real airport buffer

Confirm checkout and luggage storage with your hotel, then arrange your airport journey with margin for traffic and airport formalities. The Four Seasons is a worthwhile premium central option whose concierge can arrange airport car or limousine transfers, but that service does not include race transport.

Where to stay

A city view of Budapest
Budapest · archival city photograph

Stay in central Pest if you value restaurants, the Danube and a simple city base before the circuit commute; it is not a promise of a quick Hungaroring transfer. City Park suits travelers who want Széchenyi nearby and a calmer edge, but you will still need to connect to the eventual circuit transport. For a premium option, Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace sits by the Chain Bridge in the historic centre and can arrange airport cars. Book it for the location and service, not as an implied circuit-transfer package.

Getting around

The Hungaroring's 2026 plan used increased H8 HÉV service, Kerepes fan shuttles and a Gödöllő rail return option. Treat that as useful route context only: the 2027 plan, gates, shuttle dates, parking and taxi rules are unconfirmed. Choose your hotel after the promoter publishes the 2027 transport plan, buy only the official ticket or parking product you need, and leave spacious outbound and return buffers.

Before you head to the venue

The official F1 page has the dates and venue but marks all 2027 session clocks TBC. The official seller lists Friday practice, Saturday qualifying and Sunday race day alongside grandstand, general-admission and F1 Fan Lounge categories; selection, delivery and availability can change. Compare the exact ticket wording before purchase. Hospitality or VIP terminology does not establish paddock access, transport or any inclusion not expressly stated on the final product page.

  • Recheck all TBC Formula 1 clocks before traveling.
  • Keep Sunday night in Budapest after the race.
  • Wait for the official 2027 circuit transport plan.
  • Reserve named restaurants directly and reconfirm future service.
  • Verify ticket scope before buying any premium option.
  • Allow airport buffers on both arrival and departure.
